using PMS Pantone colors with word

Everything Im reading seems to say that Word does not work with PMS colors in
any way. Is there not an addon or anything out there that can give Word this
ability to work with them, free or pay?

I've never heard of any add-in that works directly within Word.

You could try Pantone Colorist, available for $49.95 from Pantone
(http://www.pantone.com/products/pro...Area=3&idProduct=319&idArticleType_Products=0)
or less from Amazon
(http://www.amazon.com/PANTONE-COLORIST-WIN-MAC-GSX111/dp/B000205L9S).

I haven't used this program, but my understanding is that it will suggest
RGB values that will appear to be close to selected Pantone colors. This
mapping is not even theoretically reversible. Further, the printed results
you get will depend very much on what kind of Image Color Management (ICM)
profiles your printer provides, what kind of paper you print on, how good
(and how old) your ink is, and probably the phase of the moon.

Ill check it out when i get home (off of this dialup connection). The main
thing we want is to just provide color seperation. We are a printing company
and its like pulling teeth when it comes to getting people to color seperate
their pieces or send as PDF and using a program other than word when they
want multi color jobs. Sure we can deny their business but thats not always
smart

An .eps file placed in Word will maintain PMS colours through to pdf.
However, no Word elements can be coloured with PMS colours. Get good at
pitstop.

Pitstop is an Acrobat plugin for globally changing colours in a pdf. The only
way to colour break Word files into PMS colours. Pitstop also does preflights
