Using filters and showing columns as a percentage?

I have created a work attendance register, which runs from the 1 April 2005
until the 31 march 2006. At the top of column B2 to B50 appears employees
names which include filters. In rows A2 down, I have set the years dates.
One of the criteria that appears in the column is the letter S for sickness.
How can I show the letter S as a percentage of the years attendance?

TIA

Assuming that you use a number in a cell to show hours worked, such as 8,
then this formula will calculate the percentage of "S"s to "8"s........

=(COUNTA(RangeInQuestion)-COUNT(RangeInQuestion))/COUNTA(RangeINQuestion)
formatted as Percent..........
