Using Details view for My Pictures folder

Every time I want to open a photo in the My Pictures folder, I find the
files displayed as thumbnails and in alphabetical order, which makes finding
a specific file very difficult. I want the file display to appear in Details
view and in chronological order (Date Modified) with the most recent files
at the top of the list. This takes several mouse clicks -- and IT'S
NECESSARY TO REPEAT THIS DUMB PROCESS WITH EVERY PICTURE I OPEN!

I keep thinking that this can't be the only way to display those files, but
I cannot find any way to make the Details/Date Modified view the default.

Can you please help me?

Hi Orrie,

Go to [Tools] > [Folder Options] > {View}, and tick 'Remember folders settings'.
