User Profile Gone - Login Screen Profile Gone

I disabled the login screen (so when you start up the
computer, it goes directly to the desktop). I have
Windows XP Home and I typed "control userpasswords2" in
the Run command.

From here you can disable "User Must Enter Name And
Password Into The Computer". After I unchecked this box,
I went on to highlight the User Account and clicked
Properties. In this dialog box you can change the Group
Membership. I tried to change it to Standard User (Power
User), before I knew that there are no Power Users in the
Windows XP Home version.

After canceling out of the User Accounts dialog box, I
received a prompt to Restart the Computer. I selected yes
and when the computer restarted my user profile was gone.

When I go to Users in the Control Panel I cannot see the
user account, however when I got to System and look at
the Users, it is still there.

Does anyone know how to retrieve my user profile? I have
already tried to copy it from the System User panel
logged in as the Admin however XP won't let me.

Please help and thank you in advance.

I figured it out on my own. I needed to Enable the User
account on the Welcome Screen. This is how I did it:

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT

Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList (note
that there is a space in the Windows NT).

Right click in the right pane and select New, DWord
value. Give the value the same name as the Username on
the Welcome Screen (it must match) for the account you
wish to hide/show. Double click the new value and set it
to 1 to show the account on the Welcome Screen, or set it
to 0 to hide the account.

Example: dwdweb is a user on the computer, dwdweb would
be the name you give the new value.

I hope this helps anyone else who was trying to find a
solution to a problem similar to mine.
