User cant access admin installed programs

Is there a simple way to allow myself logged in as a user or power user
to access programs installed whilst logged in as admin. I seem to be
missing something fundamental. Perhaps someone could run through the
form for installing Word or Excel 2000 for a despondent newbie to w2k?

You cannot be logged in as 2 users at once.

Install Word/Excel on admin profile, login as the other
users & test your installation

I'm not. I'm referring to programs installed during the period I was
logged in as admin.
When logged in as a user or power user the programs do not work
properly.

Done that. :) It doesn't work.
