USB Hard-drives

I have a computer with very low memory, but i want to expand it without messing with the inside of my computer. if i brought a usb external hard drive witch you plug into ur computers usb port.. would i be able to download software onto it from my computer and use it on my computer even tho it is saved on a usb based system ? ?

You seem to be confusing Memory (Ram) with Disk space (hard drive) ... if you have Low memory, you will need to add more Ram ... if you are short of disk space, then yes, an external HD is an answer ... it makes no difference to the PC, or you, if it is a USB device. Just make sure it has its own power source and does not use the USB to draw power off.
