usage reports

I have been having problems accessing usage reports for
some time now. This is my 3rd go around here at
community newsgroups on this subject.
The first 2 times the MVPs advised me that it was a
problem with my host. So I contacted Host support and
they, of course, told me the problem on the Microsoft
side. I went back to this group and was assured that it
was the host.
So I changed hosts.
Same deal. Exactly.
So I changed hosts again.
Once again, same deal. Same assurances and admonitions.
I'm surely not going to run out of hosts that support
FP2002 extensions (or even one recommened by Microsoft
which the last one was) but I am running out of patience.
FP2002 was lauded over 2000 because of these reports so
obviously somebody gets them. I am exasperated.

Now it seems to me it is something that I am doing wrong
or something in my setup. When I Click View>reports>
usage>summary it immediately posts the message:

There is no data available for this web because it has
not been published to a server that supports usage
analysis.

There is no pause, it does not look for the server (or
anything else) it does not download anything so I do not
think it can provide reports.

Do I have to be logged on to the server, Do I have to
request a download. Do I have to change my setup or
tools or options?

The hosts all insist they are setup with Microsoft server
extensions and it FP side. The MVPs all insist it is
server side.
I'd just like to get it to work

Windows XP Home - Office 2002 w/FP2002

I appreciate your help but I am sill confused. The host
is now lunarpages and they assure me they have enabled
support for usage. You say I "have to open the site
directly on the remote server in FP, then select to view
the stat." I do not know how to open the site except
with the File>Publish Web command which does not allow me
to View>reorts>Usage

How do I open the site in FP?

Thank you.

Do they charge you for these usage reports if you can get them? My ISP
claims they don't have that service. They have the FP extensions and claim
there is nothing to turn on for you to get the usage reports.

Only available on hosts running the FP2002 Server Extensions
- they are probably running an older version

How did you get them? What did you have to do to get them? I trying to get
usage reports too and would like to know what you did.

Thanks,
Ed.
