Outlook urgent help needed for microsoft outlook 2003

i am urgently in need of help as i cant receive any messages at all
i can send all i want, and am not getting any error messages at all, i have disabled all firewalls and set everything to allow it to send and receive, but it still wont receive. i need help urgently as i am waiting for replys for several job applications.
i have a VPN connection to my work, which is currently disconnected, would that effect my ability to receive with any firewall systems built into the connection?

Who is your ISP..? Did they provide you with an email account.. or is this one provided by a hosting company..? :)
