Upgraded fro XP home to XP Pro will not start

Please email me directly at , Is isI upgraded a Sony laptop which was
preloaded with XP Home, I upgraded the laptop to XP Pro SP2 but now it will
not boot into wXP or even safe mode, The blue screen of death error indicates
it may have a problem with a Virus, I was able to load XP pro on another
Partition and it works fine, I would like to uninstall XP Pro and go back to
XP home so I can recover the files in the users file which is password
protected and I cannot access the files, is it possible to recover these
filesl, I know the password and user id,

The message for the upgraded Home OS to XP Pro is *** STOP: 0x0000007B

The message states to check for Viruses or new harddriev cntrollers or hard
drives, I have not installed any new hardware and this is a laptop, I did run
a complete virus scan but it found nothing and so did a chlkdsk but no
problem was found.
