upgrade to xp pro from win2k pro on win2k domain cause extremely slow login to domain Why???

How can I fix this is there be a hotfix fix to the win2k domain server
Should a service be running that's not by default with 2kpro workstations...
nothing else has changed.. virus software disabled. now even existing xp
pro workstations login extremely slow. They logged in fine before

John,

Make sure that all of your clients point only to the Internal DNS Server(s).
The only place where your ISP's DNS Server information should show up is the
Forwarders tab.

How are they receiving their IP leases?

Is there connectivity? Check the switches / hubs.

Yep thanks it was a DNS problem
I guess it was searching the internet for the server first.

It almost always is. This is a very, very common Admin mis-configuration.
