upgrade to windows xp home edition

Hello Loucie,

If you mean upgrade 2000 Pro to XP home, this is not possible. You have to
upgrade to XP Pro. What you can do is a fresh installation of XP home.

Thank you so much for your reply. Can you tell me how to do a fresh
installation? I have never done this before and I can't really use this
laptop without xp.

Hello Loucie,

Insert the installation disk and start from it, maybe you have to change
the boot options to cd/dvd. Make sure you have saved important data BEFORE
to an external disk or burn it to disk.

He's right....you can't do it on top of W2kP but with the upgrade
version[XPH] you'll have to wipe your drive clean but the requirements
are really loose...when using the upgrade CD it will ask for another
version to verify...if you own any previous version...even the 2000
upgrade CD it will accept that after a scan and pop it out back to you
at which you place the XP CD in and continue.

There are reviews at newegg that relate to this also.
Don't worry.
