Updates say IE6 SP1 is not IE6 SP1...

Hello,

I am trying to install the following two IE updates:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=822002
Web Page Does Not Load Correctly When You Open a Page That Contains
Gzip-Encoded Content

and

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=822350
Internet Explorer May Shut Down Unexpectedly If You Have Set Windows and
Buttons to Windows XP Style

Unfortunately, when I do this, I get the following message:

This update requires Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 to be installed.

According to Help -> About in Internet Explorer, I do have my system at SP1:

Version: 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633
Cipher Strength: 128-bit
Product ID:55736-932-9877963-04540
Update Versions:; SP1; Q328970; Q324929; Q328389;
Q810847; Q813951; Q813489; Q330994; Q818529;
Q822925;

There it is, the first thing after Update Versions...

I've tried running ie6setup.exe from Microsoft's site, and that didn't fix
anything...

Anyone have any clues?

Thanks a million,
Scott

I did a little more investigating, and the revision numbers of the two files
in the patches, URLMON.DLL and MSHTML.DLL (if I recollect them properly) are
lower than the ones currently on my system, so it would be downgrading if
these patches installed. I don't know what MS is doing, but I guess that
the error message is a general one and actually it's stopping us from
putting older versions of the files on our systems... It's a good thing
that the problems these patches are trying to fix aren't a HUGE problem for
me, only very occasionally does it happen...
