updates caused reboot loop

After my most recent updates installation my computer is
in a continuous reboot loop, the only way I can boot is
in safe mode. I did find and remove a virus with
Mcaffee's "stinger", but that did not fix the reboot
loop.

Anybody else experience this

I believe I'm having the same problem. I'm going to try
to reboot in safe mode, as nothing else has worked for me -
just keeps rebooting.

All,
So you don't feel alone I am experiencing the same thing.
Installed 2000 on a new hard drive...took FOREVER to get
update 4 downloaded. Then did a simple click on the file
to install and it has gone into a continuouse reboot loop.

Attempted to load in safe mode and still the same thing.

I have not found a solution.

To make matters worse I'm trying to get a 200 gig hard
drive installed. Was told 2000 would allow the system to
recognize the full capacity. Basic 2000 isn't. Who knows
if the update will see it. Back to the same reboot loop
problem.

Oh how I love Microsoft! URrrrrgh!

Anyone have any ideas? Outside of FORMAT C:

Thanks,
Lil
