Update failure

Hello,

I am unable to run update although I
uninstalled/reinstalled.

Current Version 1.0.509

What went wrong?

build .509 is the current newest version.

What number were you expecting?

Looks fine to me.

I am saying that update does not function, regardless of
the version I have. I get an error message saying that
Antispyware cannot detect an Internet connection although
I have an active one.

Can you run update?

Sorry--that makes perfect sense. Yes. Every machine I've ever installed
the product on can run updates, both manually via File, check for updates,
and automatically (which you can test via Start, All programs, microsoft
antispyware, microsoft antispyware update.)

However, there are posts here from folks who can't. Is Internet Explorer
NOT set to "work offline"

Do you have a software firewall which might be interfering with the outbound
traffic necessary to initiate the definition download? The documentation
for firewall configuration may well have incorrect names for the executables
involved--if you need to configure a software firewall, look at both the
help and the actual files on the disk and adjust accordingly.

I am using the same build, build .509. I am having the
same problem here. I downloaded, installed and first thing
I tried is running update. It complains about "Warning,
could not connect to internet!"

Now I won't be able to read and post here if I cannot
connect to internet. I tried to shutdown all other running
software, antivirus, firewall, turn off windows firewall.
Still, I get same error. Wish to see some concrete answer.

Thanks in advance.
