unmountable_boot_volume

on one of my winXP PC's Im getting this windows failed to
load properly screen, but it lets me choose between "start
windows normally, Last Known Good Configuration", start
windows with command prompt, etc...all these options end
up going to this blue screen, even when I try to boot up
in safe mode, that says "windows failed to load because of
newly installed hardware or software, please make sure it
is installed properly (or uninstalled)"...etc... anyways,
I didnt even install an new hardware or software.

Also it says "unmountable_Boot_Volume" right below that
message.

Does anyone know exactly what that means off the top of
their head?

Also theres some technical info at the bottom of the blue
screen that looks like:

***STOP: 0x000000 (0xE8600032, 0x00000000, 0x6578000,
0x00000000)

what does this mean, is it just showing the location in
memory of the error?

Thanks for any help

Turn the system off, open the case and check all of the cables to make sure
they are attached properly.
