Unmountable Boot Volume Error

Dave

I am receiving an Unmountable Boot Volume error message
when I am reinstalling my operating system in XP. What is
this error, what causes the error, or what can I do or
not do with this error?

Thanks in advance for your help.

.This error basically indicates the boot sector is
corupted the way to fixing this is by booting to your xp
cd and then choose the repair option to load the recovery
console when in the recovery consol enter the command
chkdsk /r this will repair the volume the whole process
takes 45 minutes
