Sean,

it sounds like the Click and type is enabled. Try
disabling it and seeing if it helps...

Click...

Tools | Options | Edit: Clear Enable click and type.

Thanks for the information, Jesse, but that still is not
correcting this.
The reason this is such a problem is that we use Word for
templates and this is appearing on the templates and we
can't seem to get rid of it.

I'm pretty sure that's just a system mark that tells you where your document
ends. It doesn't print out, and while I don't think you can get rid of it,
there is no reason to.

If you don't like seeing that end-of-document mark under the cursor, you
could just add some empy paragraphs below the cursor so that you're not
working right at the end of the document and the mark will be out of the
way.

Good point. I guess he's got to get used to that little line, then. It
bothered me too, at first.

Different things bother different people, I guess. Some people are
distracted by the blinking cursor, too (until it's missing, and then we get
questions about that).
