uncheck CD recording

G

Gerhard

I just installed a new internal DVD/CD writer Pioneer DVR-A09XL. It came
with Ulead DVD Movie factory 3.5. When I try to copy a legitimate DVD, I get
the following message:

Ulead Copy. Now has encountered a problem and needs to close.

In their help files Ulead recommends for WindowsXP:

"uncheck enable CD recording on the drive"

How do I uncheck?

Thanks in advance, Gerhard

Under Windows Explorer highlight the drive
right click...........properties
hit the recording tab and uncheck the line in question.

Thanks. I don't see the recording tab. Properties has General, Autoplay,
Hardware and Sharing.

None of them shows a recording tab.

Does this affect only the native Windows file burning (which seems
to fail about 50% of the time on my machine) or all CD-burning
applications?

Native XP file burning.......a lot of the programs that burn CD/DVD require
you to disengage the native writing support.
Especially if they have a build in UDF file support which allows you to use
the CD/DVD as if it was a HD.(drag&drop)

Thanks. I've got NTI CD/DVD Maker. So far it has seemed to do fine
without my nchecking that box. But I'm going to uncheck it anyway
so that I won't forget, try the native XP burning, and ruin another
disk. :)
