Unable to map network drive - Not enough server storage is available to process this command

Windows XP Professional SP2

I have a shared Folder on my laptop.
When I make a Map Network Drive from my desktop trying to connect to the
shared folder on my laptop, I get the following error:

"The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error
has occured:
Not enough server storage is available to process this command."

I checked my setting for LanmanServer since this is a known problem.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters

IRPStackSize DWORD 45 decimal

It looks OK since 50 decimal is the max.

I had previously uninstalled Ghost and all Norton products since these are
known trouble makers.

I reinstalled SP2.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft
Networks.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Client for Microsoft Networks.

I turned off the firewalls on both computers.

None of these procedures corrected the problem.

Does anyone have any idea why XP should be unhappy. Thanks

I had IRPStackSize DWORD 45 decimal on both computers.

I changed it on both computers to IRPStackSize DWORD 50 decimal.
This is supposedly the maximum for XP.
Powered them down and up.
For the moment, they are working.

I do not know how long this will work because at one time,
I had both computers set to 49 decimal which did not work.

There is a serious problem going on here.
The problem first occurred a couple weeks ago when Microsoft
did an automatic update on both computers. The problem occurred immediately
after the update rebooted the systems. It unpredictably occurs.
It is extremely annoying. There is something beside the size of
IRPStackSize which is creating the sporadic nature of the problem.
Before the Microsoft automatic update occurred,
I never experienced this problem.
