unable to install Palm OS Handheld device

I have a new laptop running SP4 of windows 2000. I am
connecting my Handheld cradle to the USB port. Windows
finds the new hardware, but I immediately get the
following device installer error "Windows could not load
the installer for Palm OS Handheld devices. Contact your
hardware vendor for assistance". If I proceed past that
message windows is unable to locate the driver for the
device. This device worked fine on Windows 2000 SP2,
but with a different laptop.

Bill,

How did you install Palm OS? Did you use the setup.exe from Palm or did you
repackage the software? Are you in a locked down environment?

If the problem is the driver, then delete the currently installed Palm in
Device Manager, and try to reinstall with the latest drivers from Palm.
