Unable to delete corrupt file

I am using 32 bit Vista Home Premium. I use a 3D Architectural design
program called Revit and have had numerous files of downloaded components
(used in the program such as doors, windows....) that create the program to
"Not Respond". I am also unable to delete the files with explorer (states
trying to calculate the time to delete and never ends). Revit files are the
only file types that have done this. Thes same files work okay with XP. I
have worked with both the software vendor and Gateway Computer (less then six
months old) to no availe. One thing that just happened is that I can zip the
file up using Winzip and open the file in the progam when it is inside the
zip file. I have tried to unzip this to other locations, even another hard
drive but it becomes bad again but I did send the zip file to the sftware
vendor and it works fine on their Vista machines. I have tried running in
safe mode.... all the other options that Gateway ran me through to no availe.

I use the progam each day and most of the time files are okay but I'm
concerend that I could loose a major project. I would also like to be able
to delete these files since they are starting to end up all over my hard
drive. Two options I'm considering if I can't fix this with my current OS.
Going back to XP of trying to ugrade to a differnt version of Vista to see if
that might clear this up. Either way it seems I'm out $200-$300. Has
anyone lese had this problem of have any idea what would be my best course of
action? Thanks.
