two .dll's lost: msgina.dll and odbc32.dll

Andy

I downloaded some compilers and when I rebooted my system
gave me a black screen indicating that there was a problem
with my msgina.dll and odbc32.dll. I've attempted to boot
up off the boot disk, but get the blue screen of death on
disk 6 citing a hard error. I'm reluctant to wipe and
reload. Any thoughts on how I might recover?

Cheers

sfc /scannow will replace any missing/corrupted files with the originals.
You will have to use windows update when you are done.

Thanks Crusty...

The problem was, that I couldn't seem to weasle a cmd
prompt...finally able to load enough files to get me a
partial boot and snagged a prompt...running sfc /scannow,
so hopefully everything will be ok. BTW am using my laptop
for comms. Lucky that I had two computers... Thanks for
your help.
