Hi there,
I have TweakUI installed and very much enjoy using the search prefixes that
allow me to
type, for example, "google movie reviews" and the have the browser
automatically pass the
search string 'movie reviews' to google.
I have several different search prefixes that I use daily.
Now the problem, friend of mine managed to install some weird ad/malware
searchbar on my
computer. I got it all uninstalled and then ran spybot and adaware to clean
things up. The
computer now checks clear but my search prefixes no longer work. They just
return a page
not found error as though I typed in "google movie reviews" as an URL -- it
never does the
string passing function.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling tweakUI and recreating the search
prefixes from
scratch to no avail.
The entries appear correct in the registry, e.g.:
[HKEY_USERS\S....\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl\Google
Does anyone know how to restore this functionality?
Thanks!
