Any users of this AV and internet secuity program care to comment on it?
Are you satisfied with it enough to renew when your term expires?
Thanks.

I use the 2004 version and it is OK. You have to use a anti spyware at
the same time,
I use the Microsoft one because it's free.
Trend team is quite efficient: I lost my serial number thanks to a
computer crash and they
kindly and quickly provided me with everything to continue to use this
software. It scans
efficiently emails and it has a firewall...
I prefer it in comparison with Norton

I use the 2005 suite. It's very good. I especially like that's it's light
on resources. Previously, I used NIS2005, which completely mucked up my
system. Had to reformat because of NIS.

Yep, I'm pretty happy with it (although outgoing email scanning is a
complete waste of time - don't do it). I've had it since version 7, and
renewed it multiple times. I just wish they'd provide a multi-PC
solution for home users (I run it on several, and they all download
updates asynchronously).

I think Trend has over-reached a bit on TIS 2005. Particularly, the
Anti-Spyware module is not well designed nor engineered. I've seen far
too many false-positives.

The AV module is very good and the firewall component is much improved
over TIS 2004.

I'd recommend the AV, but there are other 3rd party products that are
much better and intrusion and spyware protection.

I was at a security seminar last week, one of the guys on the
panel was from Trend, had some interesting stuff to say about
what software layer they scan at. Of course, the other vendors
are working on the same stuff - scan and detect at the
networking layer rather than the apps layer, but if Sophos
don't improve their offering substantially by next licence
renewal time (about 18 months), I'll likely look at moving one
of our site licences to Trend (subject to the usual evaulation
process of leading vendors of course). Think it's almost
certain we'll keep the McAfee licence: recent versions are so
much better than the old stuff, and they're moving into network
layer level scanning already too.
