I have a hard drive that doesnt want to boot into
XP....Right before the XP Bootup Screen is supposed to
appear, my screen displays a long error, but at the top
of the screen is says TRAP
***********Exception************ and then a bunch of
jargon below that (error codes), and then just hangs on
that screen...There is nothing wrong with the memory
stick or the hard drive itself, I tested both in another
box and it boots fine. I reset the BIOS and this still
happens. The motherboard is fine and the processor is a
1GHz Athlon....Anyone else seen this error, I tried
knowledge Base and came up with nothing....thanks for any
info.

Do you have virus scanning enabled in the BIOS, if yes, you might want to
turn that off. Whether or not it is enabled, try getting into Safe Mode and
see if you can run a virus scan from there. Boot the system, start tapping
F8, at the menu, select Safe Mode.
