Transferring files from Windows 98 to Windows Vista

I am trying to transfer specific files (i.e. Turbo Tax) from my old computer
running Windows 98 to my new laptop running Windows Vista using an external
floppy drive. The files show in the A-drive however, I can't get them to
open and I can't find out how to send them to the C-drive. Any suggestions?

All you have to do is copy the files over to your C: drive
you can make a folder for them if you wish...

of course they will not open unless you also have Turbo Tax installed on
your
Vista machine

So... you're trying to move data between two computers using floppy disks?
The files "show" in the A drive of your new laptop but you can't get them to
open (because you don't have Turbo Tax installed on your new laptop) and you
don't know how to copy them from the A drive to the C drive.

Sounds to me like you need to re-take Computers 101. Sigh... On your new
computer running Vista, click the Start Orb, click on Help and Support
(bottom right hand of the resultant pop-up Start menu, in the search text
box, type "copy file" then hit enter key, click on first entry returned.
Read. Good luck.
