Tracking Software

I rec'd a warning about a tracking software had invaded
my system. I was asked to download a scanner for
removing spyware programs. The scanner has a web address
of www2.enigmasoftwaregroup.com/proof-250.php. I need to
know if this is a legitimate warning from Microsoft or is
it something I should ignore.

I think you should ignore, try something you download yourself. Adaware comes to mind.

Microsoft does not email customers warnings like this. I would not recommend
visiting the web site. Instead download one of these programs to remove
spyware:
