I had to buy a new Hard drive and installed it into my computer.
also have a slave drive that is much smaller. the slave drive ha
always been drive e: or drive d:. But for some reason after
re-installed windows and ran it, it now made my slave drive into driv
c:!!! and my master drive into drive e:! How do I switch the two? Th
slave master is set up properly in the BIOS. The large drive is th
master and the small drive is the slave. But how do I assign the c
designation to the large drive and the e: designation to the smal
slave drive

You cannot change the D drive (your master) because it is the system
drive and there is a lot of reference pointing to the system drive.
Easiest route would be temporarily disconnect the slave drive and
reinstall XP again.

Did you have a ZIP drive connected when you did the install? That is
the most common cause of drive letter mixups such as this.

The only solution is to reinstall XP on the big drive. Best results
would be obtained by disconnecting any drives that are not needed for
the basic install, such as the slave hard drive, any ZIP drive, etc.
and running the computer with just the new hard drive and a CDROM
drive connected.

Once Windows has been installed the other drives can be reconnected
and Windows will configure them for use.

Good luck
