Tooltips flash / blink with large mouse pointer

When I set my mouse pointer to
"Windows Standard (extra large)(system scheme)"

and then hover my mouse over something to bring up
a yellow tooltip, the tooltip flashes with a 1 second
interval. When I use the Windows Default mouse pointer,
the problem goes away.

I really prefer the larger mouse pointer. Is there
a patch the fix the blinking/flashing tooltips??
