toolbar in Word has disappeared

[flummoxed]

God knows what has happened but I have had no toolbar in
Word for a few days. I cannot get it to come back using
the Word help program. The only information on the top bar
(the task bar?) is Document 1 Microsoft Word. Nothing
else to hang a menu onto. I've tried reinstalling
Microsoft Office twice but nothing changes. Please help.
