to download or not to download

All,

Is it worth while downloading 5536? or should I wait for RC1?

Anyone know the dates on RC1, will this build be the same build that's going
ship for RC1, I am guessing that no SDK will be released for this build.

Hi,

5536 is a "quickie" build (pre-RC1) meant for testers. There's no point to
downloading it for most, as RC should be out shortly. There are no dates
released, but the impression was given that the time frame for testing 5536
was very short. I have no information on the SDK, though I don't know why
there wouldn't be a release for this milestone.

Thanks, my current build 5472 has issues with developing with .NET framework
v3 (WinFX) so its no loss to me, I may just go install it.

The last install only took 20 mins, so its no real time loss.

I am going to wait for the RC-1 release. I am currently running 5384 without problem, so I am in no hurry.

Special Note: Upgrades from Build 5472 to 5536 are not Supported by
Microsoft, so you will need to Clean Install, Just FYI.

Thanks, good to know, but as most people do, I always clean install, I
always have and I think.... I allways will.

I just installed it, getting VS 2005 / SQL 2005 / Office 12 / Virtual Sever
etc so I can get on with some work.

What's with the, Just FYI?

Just FYI
