Well im considering building this rig with PCSpecialist.

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

RAM - 2GB

Motherboard - Asus P5W DH Deluxe: DDR2, x16 slot, 975X chipset, 2 PCI (not heard much about these so any comments would be useful. Going to look for some reviews about it now.

HardDrive - 500GB

PSU - Id go for a 600W PSU. Im pretty sure that would be Ok.

And finally what im most proud of, Graphics Card - GeForce 8800 GTS :D

Thanks for any help and MERRY CHRISTMAS! :p

That seems like a good pc you got there. You could do better than an Asus motherboard (in my opinion) but i dont think it would matter too much unless you are going to be upgrading your pc later.

The power supply is fine, do you know what the make is?

everything else seems great, i am of course very envious:p

how much is it altogether?

Cheers for the comments Micheal, if i decide to put it together i'll know the price then and pass it on. After making that first post i read a review of that exact motherboard. Basically got a good rating and said its got some nice overclocking features. And finally the PSU is 600W Quiet Quad Rail PSU including, Case Fan and the Computer Cooler.

Or have a DVD-RW instead?

All components mentioned are fine but don't know about the PSU as you haven't listed a manufacturer.

Steer clear of cheapies, I'd recommend Tagan; Enermax; OCZ and the new Corsair range looks good.

And for the price you may as well get a DVD-RW, you can pick one up for around twenty quid.

Which version of the 8800 you gonna go for? Loadsa RAM or even more loadsa RAM? ;)

Ah, right, I didn't realise the 768Mb version was actually the GTX - oops

You're right about the DVD drive, I've just had a Pioneer 111 DVDRW I bought on July 30th this year pack up on me.

I bought it at a computer fair from a small dealer who I've just realised is based at Wembley (Im in Greenwich). I shall try for a replacement but I'm not hopeful, it cost £23.00.

I'm surprised, all Pioneer optical drives I've had have been good until that one. It was only manufactured in May 2006 as well.

So, I'm finally gonna give up on the cheapies and buy a 16 x Plextor.

Oops, I'm rambling off topic here..... ;)
