There is no "safely remove hardware" tab after using USB hardware

Hi,
I'm using a Microsoft Fingerprint reader to log on to my notebook. The
hardware works perfectly fine, but when I want to remove it, there is no
"remove harware safely" tab on the taskbar. As a result, I have to plug the
hardware out just like that.

Why does the feature not show?

Thanks

Chinmay,

I'm not familiar with Microsoft Fingerprint reader but can't you just
'Enable, Disable or Uninstall' from the Device Manager?

Some devices don't really need that option, anyway. If the external
device has an on/off switch, just make sure you turn it off before you
unplug it.
