the "find" function does not work in Word

My "find" function has stopped working in Word. I tested it in a simple
document where the word I was looking for was there, but Word returned "no
instances," or something like that. How can I fix this?

Make sure that Match case and/or other limiting options are not selected
(such as formatting options).

If nothing like this is causing the issue, try starting Word in safe mode to
see if the problem still occurs (hold down the Ctrl key as you're starting
Word, and click Yes to the safe mode prompt).
