'The device, \Device\Harddisk1\D, is not ready for access yet

'The device, \Device\Harddisk1\D, is not ready for access
yet .... is the error message in the Event Viewer.

I had to replace my motherboard with another compatible
one. The new board and entire system work perfectly with
no onscreen error messages.

The error above,is the error in the Event Viewer. The "D"
(harddrive1\D) drive is my CD-RW, which works perfectly.
The entire system is working perfectly.

My hard drive IDE cable is by itself and attached to the
primary IDE controller. My CD-ROM and CD-RW are together
on an additional IDE cable and connected to the secondary
IDE. NO cabling or drives have been changed or moved. No
jumpers have been changed.

I have found virtually nothing on the Interent around
this. Any clues?
