The best tool for synchronizing pst files on two networked computers

R

Rutger

It is disappointing that Outlook XP does not contain
functionality to synchronize pst files on two different
computers (i.e. the addresses and calendar on my laptop
and my wife's). Copying folders is not good enough. Using
Exchange server and offline folders is over the top for a
home situation.

So, browsing the internet, there seem to be a number of
non-MS tools for synchronizing pst files; however,
reading the descriptions I wasn't really convinced about
any of them.

What are your experiences? Which tools can do the job
adequately? Which one is best.

If you post a reply, please send to above e-mail also.
Thanks,

Rutger

Yes, it's true of any version. Outlook requires exclusive access to a PST
file. Actually, come to think of it, with regard to syncing, you couldn't
sync a Word doc in use, either.... :)
Is this true with OL 2003? Must it be shut down?

See if http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.htm has anything for
you - I've found the briefcase to work. Of course, neither of you
can have Outlook open when you're syncing it.
