The Adapter Switching service hung on starting.

This is an event ID of 7022 source service control manager - the symptoms
are that it takes a long time to get to the Logon screen in Windows 2000.
It sits at the blue startup screen for 5 minutes plus. Ths is a new dell
D800. I cant find anything on evenid.net or google about this message - any
info will help! Thanks!

Your next step is to identify which service is not starting: The
description of this particular Event ID (7022) within the Event Log should
give you a clue as to which service is not starting.

The adapter switching service hung on starting - is the description - after
more diggging looks like the Intel Proset Adapter Switching - I reinstalled
it and it is a little better.... still slow booting but no event error - all
the D series laptops we have been getting from dell boot slow!

The Adapter Switching service hung on starting.

It's possible that the slow startup could be a result of drivers set to
load but referencing devices that are no longer connected to your machine.
At the point you're beyond the Windows splash screen and now moving into
devices and services with a start value of system and automatic. In your
device manager are you showing any devices that are failing to start? Are
there more notes in the system event log?
