Templates and Control Buttons

When creating a template in Word 2000 we have inserted a
yes/No control. When the template is accessed it opens in
Desing Mode and will not function properly until Desing
mode has been turned off.
What is the trick for getting the new document to open
with Desing Mode turned off??

G'Day Eric,

Open the Template for editing,
Turn Design Mode OFF,
Save and Quit.

Test it by trying to create a new doc from the template.
