TCP/IP port 3383?

Hi all,

I am curious - I am seeing a connection from one of my Win2000 server
to my WinNT 4 domain controller, and I don't know what it is? The
connection is:

TCP 192.168.1.14:3383 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
TCP 192.168.1.14:3383 192.168.1.10:139 ESTABLISHED

I did a little bit of looking, and read that port 3383 is listed as
"Enterprise Software Products License Manager". So is this just the
license manager service in Windows, or...?

Thanks -

David

Port 3383 doesn't matter (it's an available port on your machine that it
uses to connect to an actual network service). It's the 139 that's a
service that you machine is connected to. It's simply a NetBios connection
(probably a file/print share).

Thanks for the response -

The thing that I was really curious about is the fact that the one
machine is *LISTENING* on port 3383...

Thanks -

David
