Task Scheduler: Properties of Task inactive

F

Franz Schenk

We have a problem on two Windows 2000 SP4 member servers: The properties of
all scheduled tasks are invisible and can not be viewed/edited. When right
clicking a task, the "properties" option is inactive (greyed out).

It is possible to add new tasks, but after successfull adding the task, it's
no longer possible to view/edit the properties.

The user that tries to perform this operation is the domain administrator.
The problem does not occur on all Windows 2003 servers in the domain.

Any ideas? Is this related to a recent Microsoft security update (they are
automatically installed by SUS)?

Thanks in advance for any help

Could be an issue with the NTFS permissions for the job file.

Thank you for your answer, but I don't think this is the solution:

- When creating a new job, a new file with default NTFS permissions is
created, and creating new jobs works.
- Have found a workaround, but not a solution: When connecting with the same
user account from a Windows 2003 server to the "sheduled task" share on a
Windows 2000 server, it's possible to view and edit the job properties.

Thank you all in advance fur further advices!

I am unable to duplicate the condition you observe. This
unfortunately makes it impossible for me to offer any further
advice.
