Somebody please help!! For no apparent reason SR is deleting all my restore
points intermittentally at random. I looked in Event viewer and see the error:
"The System Restore filter encountered the unexpected error '0XC0000056'
while processing the file 'shell32.dll.new' on volume 'harddisk Vol 1. It has
stopped monitoring the volume". I just now set new restore point and the
same thing happened again. I am not aware of anything I could have done to
cause this. Please HELP someone!!!!
Thanks

hi-I'm a newbie myself, so I dont know how much help I can be-I just got thru
having similar problems with my hp-try reloading all the main microsoft
programs-you've definately got corrupt/missing files-in my computer its under
software repair wizard-I ended up having to reload with a nondestructive
system recovery-

Right click MY COMPUTER and select properties/select system restore.
Try turning off system restore, rebooting, turning it on again and rebooting
again.
Good luck
