Heya, I'm not too advanced n computers, and this is my
first restoration to factory settings. I am using windows
XP, and have a red ''Recovery Diskette''. According to
the instructions I turn the PC off, insert the diskette
then turn it on and wait for the process to start. I turn
on the PC leave it for 15 mins, nothing happened. So I
logged on, another 15 minutes...... nothing. I accessed
A:\ But they all seem to be MS-Dos files which auto-
execute. Any help would be much appreciated
thanks

You need to go into BIOS and change the settings there to boot from floppy first. Watch the screen as your PC boots up, and you will see text on the screen something like "Press F1 to enter setup" (the key to press will be different with different PCs). Then boot with the diskette in the drive and you should get a restore screen explaining what you need to do. You do understand that you are probably going to lose all existing files on your computer, including any personal files and stored email?
