Hello,

I have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server Dc set up in the office.

It is has a hardware raid 5 set up on it and Norton Av as well updated
everyday.
The server had no errors in the event viewer and the disk drives also show
up as healthy

when I rebooted the system I got an errror stating that at least on service
failed to load on startup. I didn't log on I went to another computer and
used that computer to exam the event viewer on the server. The server had many
thins that failed Wins ,RRas ,IIS, dns when I checked the disk management
and the c partition didn't show up but everything showed as healthy. I tried
to shut the computer down using computer mgmt console from the other computer
I got an erro stating win32 nto available.
I manually rebooted the server and selected last known good still didn't work
I tried to log on and i got an error about the wins data base being corruped
or missing, the next erro I got was the page file was to small and it loggeg
me right off.
I tried repairing with the erd but had no success .

Do you think this is a virus ?
I have a Systemstate backup .

Thank you for your time and help

Are you using dynamic disks? These articles may help. Also there is now a v2
of the rollup but WU won't suggest it if v1 is installed.

Yes I am using Dynamic disks , I don't know how to tell what version.

When I connect Using computer mgmt mmc disk mgmt I see that I have an I
-drive that contains my winnt dir. it look lie c has become I

I can't log on localy to the server because I get a message that the page
fie is to small and it logs me off.

Thank for your help

The system should alternate between the original system drive and the new
virtual system drive letter every time that you restart. So try booting
again then getting logged on an install the V2 update.

The system is not alternating between the system and virtual drive.

Is there anyway to change the I drive back to C using recovery console?
