System Idle Process - Slowing System

I think I understand system idle process as calculating free processes...
and that it should calculate whilst the system is indeed idle??

But whilst working in, say, Photoshop (which is slow enough as it is), SIP
is just calculating away, and on a notebook, when the chip is being accessed
by SIP, the fan goes into a high gear... the process stops... 20 or 30
minutes later... SIP starts calculating again...

Is there any blessed way to control this beast?

What is your issue, actually?

When you have free resources, the System Idle Process shows you how much
free processor time you have - hopefully that is close to 100%. When you
are running other processes (like you say - photoshop) - then there is
likely to be less free processor time.

Now - you are saying that the System Idle Process is causing the laptop to
run hard.. My bet is that it is NOT that process and some other. And I
don't bet on a lot of things - but this is a pretty sure thing - unless you
are infected with something that calls itself the "System Idle Process".
