Sysprep and Acronis Imaging

I want to image a production server using sysprep and Acronis. How does
sysprep affect my "source" server after I run the sysprep utility. The server
shuts down and I make my image. What happens after I reboot the "source" when
the image is done? Will the production server be intact and ready to use
again? Thanks for the help.
