Suspicious file regenerates on desktop

Every 16 days at noon, a file with a label of an
underlined tilde regenerates on my desktop. It also
changes the highlight feature automatically, probably to
get me to click on the file and activate it. I have
Norton Anti-Virus and Firewall, windowsXP. Help...what do
I do next? it is sitting there. Deleted to recycle bin
twice before ...they are still there, haven't removed
from recycle bin. Think this is the first time highlight
feature changed.

It may just be a temporary file. Just to be on the safe side, do a full
virus scan of your PC with the latest antivirus updates. Are you sure it's
every 16 days? See if there's any scheduled task for every 16 days. Does
your desktop cleanup wizard occur every 16 days?
