superuser local admin compair Xp

I am trying to lock down some of or if possible all of our users. Some need the ability to download updates an other things you can't do as a local user. can any body guide me to a place that has a list of things you loose when you go to super user. I have also heard that you can add some to the Super user by putting them in a GPO or something along those lines.

Can I please get some help.

Erm you have completely lost me mate

You say "lock down" but then say "allow them to do updates"

I take it by that lot you mean 'user privilages?'

Do you not have an IT tech to sort it out for you?
