SUBINACL Bug - 1722 the RPC Server is unavailable

J

JayDee

I've found loads of people who have this prob, but no fixes.

when running SUBINACL, it incorrectly identifies its default SAM Server

i get - "default sam server will be namicgroup"
there is no server called "namicgroup" in my network so the SUBINACL command
fails with
"1722 the RPC Server is unavailable."

I read alot of stuff about the version included on W2K RK Supp1, but the
version of the file is exactly the same,

HELP!

Hi

You might get the job done with SetACL...

SETACL (freeware) at
http://setacl.sourceforge.net/

SetACL can set permissions on:

Local or remote directories
Local or remote files
Local or remote printers
Local or remote registry keys
Local or remote Win32 services
Local or remote network shares

I contacted PSS and got hold of a new version of the tool that works
properly.

Apparently this is a known issue, but no KB articles or fixed files have
been made public yet.

So - contact PSS for a new version of subinacl

Updated versions are available for the 2000 and 2k3 RK's
