hi there,

was wondering if any of you tech genius might be able to help on this one.

Standard windows driver stop error code

stop: c000026c , \systemroot\system32\DRIVERS\viaagp1 status: 0xc000012f

basically installed a ATi 9800XT in place a of a 9600XT on 2000 pro, used
the ati unistall utility to remove the display driver previously installed,
then installed new 9800xt and updated drivers from the disc.

Windows booted fine the first time, then every boot throws up this error code.

Now i would presume that this is infact the motherboard agp driver as
opposed to the videocard, board being a Gigabyte ga7 vaxp (kt400 chipset).
now i have run the windows recovery console, both automated and manual no joy.

Can anyone advise me of anyway to replace this file/dvr manually thru
command prompt, failing that i'll do an ntfs data recovery and wipe the HDD,
but i only want to do that as a last resort if poss,

thanx in advance

Hello,

stop: c000026c , \systemroot\system32\DRIVERS\viaagp1 status: 0xc000012f

according to ntstatus.h:

0xC000012F:
The specified image file did not have the correct format, it did not
have an initial MZ.

0xC000026C:
%hs device driver could not be loaded
Error Status was 0x%x

I guess either the image is corrupt or not there.
Shouldn't be viaagp1.sys instead of viaagp1?

if theres a way to restore it to the original setup driver that comes with
windows? i can't seem to find the driver on the 2000pro cd
