Stop c000021a error with El Torito

Hi All,

Im looking for a solution to Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error} with
status of 0x00000000 (0x00000000, 0x00000000) in my final cd. The
problem doesnt surface until I actually etprep the drive

The funny thing is, ive made a few working el-torito cd's now, im
trying to minimize the footprint and increase the boot time, so I
figure I am removing some critical Session manager component. Here is
what im including:

El Torito CD SUpport Macro:
Remove: SCSI/Raid Host Controller

Core Networking
Remove: Windows Firewall

Kernel Audio Support

DirectX 9.0c
Remove: All DirectShow, DirectVb, DirectPlay

Winlogon Sample Macro
Remove: NT Loader, NTFS, NTFS Format, Explorer Shell, Windows Logon

Minlogon

Command Shell

Im using SP2.

Is there any obvious components missing that would make the session
manager fail?

Santiago,

What is the EWF state just before you run etprep?
What is the HDD setup on your target during FBA and when you boot off the CD?
After you run etprep - what do you do next?

This is really weird. Why do you need the Winlogon Sample Macro if you remove almost all its depenencies?
Start with Minlogon macros then.

Make sure your image works fine on HDD first. If it does, there is no problem with the image components to boot off the CD and it
would be a problem with EWF and etprep (and the way to shutdown image, etc., see above).

Hi KM,

Thanks for the help, your first question "What is the EWF state just
before you run etprep?" Did the trick. The EWF was enabled in my
pre-etprep stage, so theres no way the drive re-mapping was ever going
to work. Everything worked great on HDD of course.

Ive been using Winlogon Sample because every time I dont use it I get
a Stop:0x7B and I havent been able to identify for certain which
component i am missing. I didnt know there was a minlogon macro, whats
the component name?

Thanks Again

Santiago Allen
